The Wines of Du Toitskloof - 11th June '24

Writer's picture: vatswineclubvatswineclub

On the 11th of June Desmond Garcia the National Sales Manager of Du Toitskloof Wines came and presented his wines to us. Desmond was capably assisted by Rob Hewer who handles the sales in Gauteng. It is awesome great to have someone from the Cellar present, so you can experience the place, the people, the wines and how they are made directly from the person who does the marketing. Desmond’s presentation was excellent and we learnt so much about the Cellar and the terrior we had never known before. We were spoilt with the Legacy range which many people don’t taste. Thanks Desmond, the tasting was an amazing experience, with gorgeous wines and brilliant prices. Just remember that Vats scores first and then is informed of the price next. The following is the tasting order, the comments of the tasters and the average scores.

Four wines in the Vats top 20, two in the top ten! The wines were all massively well priced and excellent in quality! Top wine the Dimension Red, followed by the Pinotage and third the robust Nebbiolo. Not often that you get to taste a Nebbiolo, thanks Desmond! Desmond’s and Robs presentation simply marvellous, what a lovely tasting thanks to you both!
